Open Knowledge Austria at the OKFN Network
Explore our OKFN Network presentation on 3 November 2026.

What can the Austrian chapter contribute to the Open Knowledge Network, and how can other chapters work with us? Our presentation for the network meeting on 3 November 2026 brings together the people, projects and priorities behind our new beginning.
Open the presentation
The nine-slide presentation is available in English, directly on our website. It introduces our team, our signed MoU with the Open Knowledge Foundation, and our work on open data and AI.

Meet the team
The presentation introduces Daniel Dobriy, Shahrom Sohi and Alina Halaburda alongside Kremena Irinkova, our Network Manager for industry and research collaborations, and Bernhard Krabina, focusing on public organisations and MediaWiki. Together, we want to connect civil society, research and public institutions around practical uses of open knowledge.
Projects and priorities
- Open Data Inside: a shared badge, ambassador directory and place to make projects using open data visible. Explore opendatainside.org/en.
- Open knowledge and AI: open-source knowledge bases, agents using the Web, and methods that keep sources and context visible. The presentation includes our experience from the Knowledge Bases for AI Agents webinar.
- Climate Search: exploring climate and environmental knowledge across sources. We welcome datasets and questions to work on together at go.okat.at/climate.
- FAIRWEB-AI: a research proposal submitted to WWTF on fair and sustainable AI access to public knowledge.
Join the next steps
We welcome invitations to collaborate on proposals, shared work on open knowledge and AI, and contributions to our Open Data Catalogue.
The next opportunity to meet is the Open Data Inside Badge Relaunch, planned for 21 January 2027, 17:00 to 19:00 CET, at AI:AT Vienna and online. The date and venue are subject to confirmation. Register for in-person or online participation to receive the event details.
